One of Musto’s most enduring and successful partnerships has been with Ellen MacArthur.
Joining forces back in 1995 for Ellen’s round Britain trip in Induna, through to the present day there is plenty of action to recount. No less than in 1995 when Ellen became the fastest solo sailor on the planet breaking the single-handed Round the World record in 71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds with B&Q. Ellen received the Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for her record-breaking, solo circumnavigation. At 28 Ellen is the youngest person ever to receive this award.
At the prestigious Laurens Sports Awards 2005, Ellen was named Alternative Sportsperson of the Year.
Other highlights see Ellen and her 4 man crew on board B&Q finish the Record SNSM establishing a new record for the Maxi class category of 1 day, 3 hours, 23 minutes and 29 seconds.
2006 sees Ellen touring Asia and having some well-deserved time off.
