GORE-TEX FOOTWEAR TECHNOLOGY
GORE-TEX technology leads the market in weatherproof, breathable technology. Lightweight and flexible, you’ll barely feel the difference between GORE-TEX footwear and your everyday shoes.
WHAT IS GORE-TEX FOOTWEAR
Hugely popular for outwear, GORE-TEX boots are just as effective at creating a comfortable, dry and breathable protective layer against the toughest elements. GORE-TEX liners are used in both leather and synthetic boots. In a synthetic shoe the liner is bonded to the outer using a strong adhesive. This may slightly reduce the membrane’s breathability. In leather boots the GORE-TEX liner is bonded at just the heel and the toe. This helps retain the leather’s natural breathable qualities.
THE BENEFITS OF GORE-TEX FOOTWEAR
The GORE-TEX membrane is highly waterproof and windproof. This keeps you warm and dry wherever you go. The pores of the membrane block the passage of water molecules, but do this while remaining completely breathable. This helps keep your feet dry and comfortable during high-intensity activities.
GORE-TEX footwear products are ideal for all kinds of activities, from sailing to fell running, hiking to deer stalking.
Leather boots are naturally highly waterproof and breathable. The chief benefit of a GORE-TEX liner in a leather boot is to reduce drying times and act as a second layer of weather defence, especially when the leather wears out. In a synthetic boot, a GORE-TEX liner provides high levels of waterproof performance not usually offered by synthetic outers.

CARE ADVICE FOR GORE-TEX BOOTS
GORE-TEX boots are easy to care for. When looked after properly, they can provide you with years of reliable performance.
Where possible, shake them out and brush them down after each use. Leather boots also benefit from leather treatment, which helps keep the material supple and free from cracks. Leave your boots to dry naturally after use. Re-treat your boot uppers regularly with DWR (Durable Water Repellent) to maintain weatherproof performance.
